Emma Simmons

Experienced EMT/ medical assistant, fluent in French, with experience in clinical research and public health outreach. Extensive experience in emergency medicine, public policy and public outreach.

• 10 Years of Volunteer service with the American Red Cross, working with Red Cross Disaster Relief, ICRC Malaria Initiative and Red Cross Blood Donation Centers
• Volunteer for Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Street Team, working with mobile units and the in person clinic providing care, information and resources for homeless patients.

Volunteer for Brigham and Women's Hospital 2015-2017 completing 150 hours of volunteer work in multiple departments including the ER, Palliative Care and Patient Services. 

• UMass Boston Senator Student government, involved on multiple committees including the diplomatic reception team, providing a student presence greeting visiting dignitaries, nobel price winners, politicians, activists and artists.

- Worked as a volunteer and teaching aid for 3 Point Foundation, an organization teaching social emotional and academic skills to vulnerable students in the greater Boston area through basketball and hip-hop dance

• Co-Founder of Boston Survivors Speak rape, incest and sexual assault survivors network, a group of survivors advocating for change through community dialog, public policy and volunteering to speak to perpetrators in court mandated rehabilitation programs.
