Volunteer Work

I had the opportunity to participate in a nursing mission trip to Tanzania, Africa for

fourteen days (Dec. 28, 2022 - Jan. 11, 2023). I provided free health care to local villages and

assisted RNs, NPs, and Doctors in assessing patients and providing treatment. I also provided

treatment on personal hygiene, first aid kits, and medications. Worked in the pharmacy

putting together orders for take-home prescriptions. This was an amazing opportunity where

I got to learn about illnesses and injuries that are unique to a different part of the world. I also

gained very valuable communication skills by not only collaborating with many people when

facilitating care but also by using translators to provide care to someone who speaks an

entirely different language than me. I can take all of these skills I learned on this trip and

apply them to any role that I decide to work in throughout my lifetime back home.
