I grew up playing softball my whole life. I started travel ball when I was only 11 years old. I’ve always been told that I have such a high IQ in this game, and I learned and picked up on so many things that if you were to just watch a game, you wouldn’t realize the little things that make such a big difference. Growing up, I was an elite pitcher. I played in a national tournament, and we placed in the top 10 in one of the biggest tournaments in softball. From looking at batters and identifying swings to getting in the box and hitting was just such a passion of mine, I worked so hard to get to where I wanted to be. I got a scholarship to play Division 1 softball at Tarleton State University, which was the most incredible. I wish my career didn’t end the way it did because of the transfer portal, but everything happens for a reason, because I have turned my playing passion into a coaching passion, and it is so surreal seeing what I could do to impact these girls. From the littlest thing to giving a pitching lesson to seeing one of my teams win the championship melts my heart because of how much I’ve done for them; building their confidence, reassuring them that they are a good player and that they deserve to be here, and just reminding them that it’s just a game and it’s supposed to be fun when you’re working hard.
