The position I maintain is part of the Campus Operations department. Daily tasks include:

- daily plant maintenance including but not limited to pruning, addressing plant health concerns, propagating, and transplanting

- daily landscape maintenance including but not limited to mowing, deadfall removal, tree maintenance, leaf blowing, and landscape installation

- operated power equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers and chain saws in a safe manner

- kept records of maintenance activities such as hours worked, materials used.

- performed minor repairs on tools and equipment as needed.

- built or maintained greenhouses, fences or benches,

- engaged with students through environmental events and clubs

I work around 20 hours a week part time at Rocket Fizz. Skills and responsibilities include:

- organized store by returning merchandise to proper areas and restocked displays

- received and displayed product shipments on store retail shelves upon delivery

- greeted customers and provided exceptional customer service

- maintained cleanliness of store environment including floors, windows, displays etc.

- money handling

- computed purchases and received and processed cash or credit payment

- social media management and content creation

In this position, I am a nurses aide for my brother when I visit back home. He has both autism and spina bifida. Duties performed include:

- assisted with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.

- used mobility devices to assist in transportation

- provided emotional support and companionship

- administered medications as directed

- checked supplies regularly and restocked items as needed

- assisted with lifting from wheelchair to bed, recliner, etc

- provided meals and snacks when requested

I worked at the North Carolina Zoo as a groundskeeper in the horticulture department of the North America habitat zone. Duties and skills included:

- prepared the park for opening through an routine maintenance check every morning

- daily plant maintenance including but not limited to pruning, addressing plant health concerns, propagating, and transplanting

- daily landscape maintenance including but not limited to mowing, deadfall removal, tree maintenance, leaf blowing, and landscape installation

- operated power equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers and chain saws in a safe manner

- assisted in habitat maintenance for animals as well as feeding

- engaged with public to educate on plants, animals, and information about the park

My position on the Land Stewards crew was a work program position run through Warren Wilson College. I worked around 15 hours a week throughout the school year, and my duties included:

- garden management and installation including plant rearing and harvest, which helped me obtain experience in horticulture

- woody invasive management, mushroom inoculation, and trail maintenance which helped me obtain experience in forestry and agroforestry

- cattle management, sheep testing, fence building (high tension wire and electrical), composting, pasture maintenance, and soil care which provided experience in agriculture services

- conservation focus in all experiences

- assisted as part of a crew in undergraduate research efforts

This position placed me under the Outdoor Program manager to create, facilitate, and maintain our outdoor and environmental education program. Skills learned and responsibilities included:

- working with ages 3 to adults

- facilitated educational activities such as interpretive nature hikes, creating macroinvertebrate habitat through dam building, plant ID hunt, etc

- facilitated primitive skill classes such as atlatl and tomahawk throwing, fire building, hut building etc

- gained knowledge in creating new programs/curriculum for the program

- developed more public speaking skills through education

- learned new engagement techniques for different age groups

I worked as a lifeguard in 2021. I started out as second lifeguard and then moved into head lifeguard about halfway through the summer. Duties and responsibilities included:

- watched over swimmers to respond quickly to distress situations.

- conducted daily pool maintenance, including testing and adjusting chemical levels.

- monitored behaviors for safety violations and took steps to prevent further violations.

- identified emergency situations or potential drownings and entered water for lifesaving measures.

- consulted medical protocol to administer CPR, bandage wounds and clean injuries.

- participated in and helped lead weekly comprehensive safety training for lifeguard staff

In this position, I was a student dance instructor. I taught around 8 classes a week. Skills and responsibilities included:

- worked with children ages 3 to 18

- provided opportunities for each student to reach fullest potential through artistic, creative expression

- acquired knowledge and skill in several different types of dance

- obtained knowledge on choreography and performing routines

- developed public speaking skills through teaching

- provided exceptional customer service to guardians of students
