April Clay
Essex County Community Foundation
Beverly, MA
Dear April,
I am excited to apply for the Philanthropic Services Officer position at Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF). With a strong background in donor stewardship, grant management, and nonprofit operations, I am eager to bring my skills to advance ECCF’s mission of strengthening communities across Essex County.
At WalkMassachusetts, I manage a portfolio of 50 major donors and 35 corporate sponsorships while leading all grant research, writing, budgeting, and reporting. I also oversee communications—including social media, an email list of 6,500, a biannual newsletter, and our annual report—and manage two cornerstone fundraising events: Beat the Bay State, a monthlong virtual walk/run, and our annual April Celebration.
My number one strength is creating and streamlining nonprofit systems and operations to build capacity for staff, board, and volunteers. By improving workflows in fundraising, communications, and events, I have freed up team capacity while enhancing donor and fundholder experiences.
I would welcome the opportunity to bring my skills in donor relations, grants management, and organizational systems to ECCF’s philanthropic services team. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the chance to discuss how I can contribute to ECCF’s important work.
Sincerely,
Emma Itri
