I have a long history working with animals in many different settings. My animal care experience and knowledge is far beyond my age. Im hardworking to an extreme few can fathom, and dedicated to ensuring the best possible welfare for all animals under my care. I learn quickly and adapt well to change. I am highly versatile with a wide variety of skillsets. I believe these reasons make me a great candidate for the job.

Work History

Conservation Education Specialist : Animal Care

Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium

  • Provide daily care, husbandry and maintenance needed to provide good animal welfare to all animals in care.
  • Give out medications as prescribed by vet to animals, and fill out medication sheets.
  • Clean all enclosures thoroughly in a very time efficient manor, to provide a suitable habitat the means/exceeds AZA, ZAA and USDA standards.
  • Training animals including Macaws, Binturong, owls, Fennec foxes, Tamandua, Sloth, Mallard, and tortoises and more, successfully.
  • Writing up training plans and evaluating and readjusting training plans as needed to best fit individual and situation.
  • Create and give out enrichment that is species specific and evaluate animals engagement with enrichment.
  • Prepare and feed out diets.
  • Preform routine nail trims, and assist vet/others with medical procedures.
  • Provided care to binturong, kinkajous, fennec foxes, tamandua, armadillos, sloth, macaws, owls, kestrels, and many other small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
  • Train interns, and new staff members how to provide such husbandry, training and handle techniques.
  • Communicate with other staff members efficiently both verbally, and over written records to ensure best care possible is being provided to animals.
  • Present animals to crowds exceeding 200 people at Xafari amphitheatre in an exciting engaging manor.
