Start overseeing every unit, individually and continuously monitor, and regulate flows, temperature and pressure as needed for each unit through the use of the DCS System. Responding to alarms with a quick response time, while communicating with other team members or any external personnel. Also respond to alerts or emergency situations and take action to potential risks. In accordance to procedures and regulations, follow protocol for parameters and adjust settings as needed. Identify and respond to any technical issues or problems that may interfere with safety and production. Analyze data throughout the day and report progress and make necessary adjustments.
As a Chemical Operator I am in charge of: first and foremost, to establish a safe work environment for myself and everyone around me. Start preparing materials needed for the scheduled product.. Weigh product and right down numbers to be turned in to lab. Determine what chemicals need to be mixed for final product. Communicate with lab technician to find out how much of each chemical is needed for final product. Attend morning meeting to determine and confirm production strategy in accordance to the customer. Start process building and prepare it for raw material. Process through the use of scrubber, conveyors, feed screws, pelletizer, crusher, round screener and feed elevator. Bag, stack or drum, final product in preparation to be shipped. Routinely inspect equipment and perform maintenance on process equipment that is involved in my circuit. Handle emergency situations and start up and shut down machinery as needed. Draw samples to be turned in to lab for analysis. Maintain a log of materials/chemicals used, and final production numbers for the day. Housekeeping through out and at the end of each day. Ultimate goal is safety and production to operational excellence.

Adjust control to regulate temperature, pressure, and time of prescribed reaction, according to knowledge of equipment and processes. Draw samples of the product at specified stages, perform standard tests or send samples to a laboratory for analyses. Tend auxiliary equipment, such as heaters, scrubbers, filters, and dryers, to prepare and or further process materials. Routinely inspect equipment for leaks or other hazards. Maintain a log of gage readings, shift production and equipment malfunctions. Monitor equipment controls through the use of the DCS computer programs. Oversee installation of machinery and perform tests to ensure that they are safe for use. Schedule maintenance tasks without letting it affect daily production. Repair machines and suggest upgrades to enhance productivity and reduce cost. Instruct and train other operators as required. Handle emergency situations and shut down machinery to avoid damage to life or goods. Work cross functionally with other departments coordinating daily job scopes. Support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning. Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
