I worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years before making a career change during the pandemic. Joining the Elysian packaging team was a new challenge for me, and one that made me realize that the skills I've obtained from my restaurant days, as well as my sports background, have allowed me to adapt and thrive in many different work enviornments.
My ability to manage time is a skill that I take the most pride in. Being able to accomplish small tasks, safely, within a time period when a bigger task is in process, is one of the reasons I am an asset. Having an attention to detail, and only going as fast as you can maintain that attention, is my understood threashold of pushing my work limits. I try to get 1% better everyday to expand that threashold over time.
I have playing and coaching experience at the college level, and I only highlight that because of a skill I learned during that time. I've learned how to earn respect on a team from the inside out. Being willing to learn and adapt. Being willing to do a task that most would delegate, because the next time you need something from that person, they will be more responsive to your ask. Putting your ego in your back pocket, show up on time, have a good team attitude are the values I have instilled in myself.
I love to set goals and I love to start streaks. Some of my personal accomplishments are quitting drinking in 2020. I taught myself how to read and write in Korean during covid. Current streak is a 4 minute ab routine that I am on day 534.
