Within three years of entering the U.S. Army, I was promoted to Sergeant (E-5) ahead of many of my peers based on demonstrated leadership, performance, and increased responsibility. I served as both a Bradley Fighting Vehicle gunner and Infantry Team Leader, supervising and developing a three-person team.
As a Bradley gunner, I was responsible for the operation, maintenance, and readiness of complex vehicle and weapons systems. I contributed to the successful qualification of my Bradley crew, ensuring we were trained, proficient, and prepared to perform in demanding operational environments.
As a Team Leader, I supervised three personnel and was responsible for their training, accountability, professional development, equipment readiness, and successful completion of assigned tasks. This position strengthened my skills in leadership, personnel management, problem-solving, risk management, training, and decision-making under pressure.
