Sales professional with 10 years of experience in the construction industry
Started this company at 21 years old. This was the time I learned I was good at sales and good with people in a professional setting.
We were a roofing and siding company that worked primarily hail storms. This meant a whole lot of canvasing, prospecting, inspections and presentations. In that time I developed my skills as a sales professional and business owner.
We developed a great reputation for mostly just being honest with people. If a prospective homeowner didn't have enough damage for full replacement I told them. Those same people referred me to everyone they knew because I offered honesty and transparency.
I had a slideshow that I developed that guided the qualified prospects through the entire process from start to finish while maintaining a casual demeanor.
I ran every part of that company for roughly 7 years and wanted to get more into remodeling because I was tired of chasing hail.
Started Skyrock Renovations with the goal of being a GC within the investors market in Denver, CO
Moved there not knowing a soul and literally built that company from scratch.
Lots of cold calling in that first year. Hit the phones everyday. I actually put a sales folder together and would go straight to property management offices, donuts in hand and pitch right there in the lobby. That paid off immensely and for those companies I became there go to for all major projects.
Skyrock worked with individual investors that were affiliated with my Property Managers. Instead of using slides I had 3d renderings, blueprints and designs that I would draft. Using that information we would discuss budget and targeted cap rates. Most of these clients were not in state so we used emails and virtual appointments. Went through the process, timeline, estimate and developed rapport. My closing rate was apx. 80% at that time with around 33% margins for the company.
In two years we started with nothing and ended breaking a little over half a million within that second year. Reason why we wanted to leave Colorado was because living in the mountains was in no way comparable to being at the beach. Plus trying to accomplish anything in -10 is not much fun.
I used Revive Construction to more or less plan my next move. We have a great website and reputation. I just want to be back at the beach. I have used the last year to spend time with family and regroup.
I know my resume is different. It tells a story of my last 10 years and I hope this is received well because it is a little unorthodox.
To sum this up, here are the skills I've acquired as a business owner and entrepreneur.
