As a marine construction deck engineer on dredges and derrick cranes my job scope is vast. I’m the welder/fabricator, crew/tug boat operator, leverman, mechanic and electrician. I also schedule maintenance on equipment, manage time with tugs on barge moves and or offshore tows. I am required to fill out daily logs, maintain and train deckhands on how to perform the job that is required safely and effectively.
