Work History

Engineer III

Seer Inc.
01.2020 - 01.2024
  • Custom-designed modular in-line purification system with integrated control valves and level controllers for waste collection
  • The system contributed to huge reductions in labor (16 hours for 45 g compared to 7.5 hours for 108 g) and waste (64% reduction) for our nanoparticles
  • Conducted scale-up trials for base nanoparticles as well as key intermediates for two new product launches
  • Custom-designed three in-line process gas manifolds and two exhaust ventilation systems to support analytical and process tools for safety and efficiency
  • Modified temperature monitoring probes to immersible temperature probes for better temperature stability for all production refrigerators and freezers
  • Created lab layout drawings for the new customer applications lab in Germany using AutoCAD Lite
  • Transferred Product Development documentation to Production
  • Championed the lab relocation of 10 robotic proteomics instruments, including power and gas lines with minimal down time
  • Managed Elemental Machine Platform to continuously monitor temperature on all process and production equipment
  • Created SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) and PM’s (Preventative Maintenance) for new and existing process tools and instrumentation
  • Monitored process operations; responded to and completed rapid troubleshooting for equipment upsets
  • Worked cross-functionally and interfaced closely with the materials discovery and quality development groups
  • Independently performed the subset facility-wide tasks to support equipment maintenance, operations, and upgrades in all lab spaces

Senior Technician / Instrumentation

Sangamo Therapeutics
01.2020 - 01.2021
  • Supported the GMP Facilities department with additional mechanical and troubleshooting responsibilities in the areas of HVAC, process gases, electrical, and other utilities
  • Maintained, repaired, and calibrated all GxP laboratory instrumentation and equipment in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Completed GxP tasks safely, accurately, and timely in support of plant operations
  • Assists in the start-up and validation of systems
  • Supported the creation or modification of technical documents as required or directed
  • Continually looks for improvement opportunities (i.e
  • Has operational excellence mindset) in and out of their area
  • Communicated and interacted with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology, Engineering, and other departments to ensure satisfactory performance of instruments and systems
  • Managed the calibration of all GMP asset equipment

Engineer 1

Intrexon Corp / MBP Titan LLC

  • Managed and troubleshot the fume hood project in the Fermentation Lab done by Therma
  • Created, maintained, and upgraded any changes on all Pilot Electrical, PFDs and P&IDs using 2020 Autodesk AutoCAD Lite (“Instrument Society of America” ANSI/AS-S5.1)

Engineer 1

Siluria Technologies Inc.
La Porte, USA
01.2010 - 01.2019
  • Built, maintained, modified, and operated chemical reactors from small scale pre-pilot to large scale demonstration plant in La Porte, TX capable of producing 300 tons of ethylene a year
  • Responsible for the complete electrical installation of the high/low voltage power, pipefitting, PLC implementation (HC900), and instrumentation on the latest pilot reactor systems at the Hayward site
  • Built, maintained, and calibrated the Separations Pilot Reactor System to achieve company’s technical and business objectives at the Hayward location
  • Managed five pre-pilot scale reactor systems and two gas chromatographs while screening 60 various catalyst runs per week
  • Responsible for the design/construction of the flammable and toxic gas sensor system with the implementation of 12 emergency “Pull Down” stations at all egress doorways to shut down pilot systems in case of an emergency at the Hayward site
  • Provided regular guidance on safety issues and performed all corrective actions for the Hayward Facility Safety Committee
  • Contributed to the strong safety culture through the MOC (Management of Change) system
  • Maintained and upgrade changes on all Pilot Electrical, PFDs and P&ID’s using 2015 Autodesk AutoCAD Lite (“Instrument Society of America” ANSI/AS-S5.1)
  • Managed Siluria’s toxic/flammable gas sensor systems with supplier to achieve semi-annual calibration and additional maintenance or improvements to the system at both San Francisco and Hayward sites
  • Performed the Chemical lab setup by installing new equipment and monitoring the logistics for gas supply, chemicals, materials, and other lab needs
