In my current role as an Inventory Management Specialist for the Weapon Systems Management Center, I'm responsible for leading various aspects of technical supply management work including: inventory management, analyzing inventory AAO data to forecast demands and optimizing stock and property utilization relating to supply activities.I collaborated with the Program Office to streamline the sustainment process for subsequent disposal, resulting in the successful divestment of over $10 million in assets. I coordinate with all MEFs across the Enterprise to address program needs and communicate inventory requirements effectively. Additional job duties includes:

  • Initiate, prepare, edit and process requisitions in GCSS-MC to stock, commodity control, or other appropriate supply organizations
  • Process documentation for material redistribution in GCSS-MC, maintain such items in a supply room or similar storage area, issue material to shop or work center personnel, maintained local stock records
  • Operate computer terminals or personal computers to perform records search, data input, and data corrections
  • Perform supply data management including supply planning, supply management, issue, utilization, and disposal of equipment and material
  • Search Catalyst, records, or other data sources to obtain or correct stock numbers or to find authorized substitutes for stock items
  • Conduct searches for information and extract data from files and databases to assemble statistical status and other supply information for management and the Enterprise
  • Confer with G-4 personnel across the Enterprise to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply chain efficiency, or minimize cost
  • Maintain positive and collaborative business relationships with customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to the Product Quality Deficiency Report (PQDR) process or activity and SDR’s

Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist

In my previous role as Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist for the Distribution Management Center in the Material Support and Planning Branch, I was responsible for leading aspects of technical supply management work including: inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization relating to supply activities. I monitored and conducted material coordination for special programs, maintenance and production shops. I determined, initiated and coordinated required actions by establishing and maintaining liaison with inventory managers, contractors or vendors, and planning organizations to schedule or advise as to timing of procurement, delivery, or emergency transportation. I contacted and coordinates with operating officials regarding aspects of the program needs and convey inventory requirements. I verified materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages. I was responsible for reimbursable requisitions totaling over $12M yearly. Additionally, I routed materials to designated storage locations in accordance with storage methods and policies. Additional duties and responsibilities included:

  • Initiated, prepared, edited and processes requisitions in GCSS-MC to stock, commodity control, or other appropriate supply organizations

Supply Clerk

United States Marine Corps

For over 7 years, I served in the U.S
Military and worked for the United States Marine Corps as a Supply Clerk. In this role, I provided a variety of technical supply support and maintained a Care-In Stores program for Marine Corps SAC 3 principle end items to include small arms weapons, secondary reparable and consumables. I determined stock levels needed for specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletions. I conducted extensive and exhaustive research of catalog databases to locate more cost effective and available substitutes for new products. I collaborated with delivery point team members to prepare inventory procedures and participated in the inventory process. Additionally, I corrected computer generated rejects and analyzed computer reject. I processed reports of discrepancies, prepared charts for briefings on performance and capabilities of different supply organizations and sources and performed research to determine reasons for patterns of transaction errors and failure. I identified logistical requirements and developed government estimates, coordinated scheduling, procurement, shipping, and warehousing.
I received and inspected incoming shipments including visually inspecting packages, signing for deliveries, and/or refusing delivery of packages. I processed receiving information and return goods, loaded, unloaded, sorted, and processed deliveries. I stocked and pulled warehouse inventory, processed incoming departmental requests and paperwork.
I performed physical inventories of the warehouse, entered relevant database information for inventory purposes.
Also, I maintained logs and assured the safety of warehouse, vehicles, forklift, and other equipment. Additional jobs duties included:

  • Reviewed and interpreted policies, guidelines and directives received from higher authority relative to the management of supply requirements, assets and procedures applicable to Marine Corps
  • Utilized the Vendor Product Application (VPA) to determine vendor information for requisitions
  • Generated written purchase requisitions utilizing knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and the Residential Design and Furnishings Program (RDF) Specific Application
  • Tracked shipping of requisitioned items and problems associated with short shipments and damages and prepared reports to vendors identifying discrepancies and issues with labeling
  • Designed, developed and coordinated qualitative and quantitative measurement criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of supply program operations in meeting Departmental and Office goals
  • Monitored inventory losses by analyses of inventory discrepancies, adjustments and trends to ensure the integrity of the base resources management system
  • Analyzed financial transactions to detect errors and initiated corrective action through monitoring Stock Lists, Master Components Lists, Technical Manuals, GSA Supply Catalogs and the Fed Log
  • Received incoming shipment discrepancy reports and evaluated utilizing MOWASP, Automated Set Assembly and FEDLOGS analyses on incoming and outgoing reports to ensure the effectiveness of the Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR) program
  • Effectively inputted all data from Snap Sets into a local database system for immediate recall
  • Drafted and finalized operating instructions which included alert plans, duty hour and designation of delivery locations
  • Conducted physical stock inventories of authorized supplies for ordering or replenishing supply stock levels
  • Obtained written cost quotes from vendors for items specified by the Central Receipts Control Unit (CARDF) to ensure vendors specified are current in their participation in the Central Contractors Register (CCR)
