  • Managed response, daily duties, installation training, company training, and shift assignments as a Lead FF/LT for up to 12 personnel at the busiest fire station in one of the largest fire departments in the Department of Defense.
  • As one of 3 Lead Firefighters/Lieutenants at Station 1, I have served as a mentor to firefighters wanting to become a Lead FF/Acting Officer by answering and all questions as they navigate the learning curve of going from a firefighter to a Lead role.
  • Serves as member of the HAZMAT team at Station One with extensive knowledge of the HAZMAT monitors and equipment and have knowledge of the DECON unit at Knox Army Airfield.
  • Managed decontamination team for two years while at Knox field, which included static and working displays, drills, and real life events.
  • Serves as the Cascade System Manager for three (3) cascade systems on Ft. Rucker. Ensures that quarterly air samples are taken in accordance with NFPA 1989 and ensures that annual maintenance is completed in accordance with NFPA 1989. Performs user level maintenance as needed. Secures quotes and prepares purchase requests for services needed. Schedules annual maintenance on the three machines with NAFECO, and helps ensure that station personnel know how to properly use equipment.

Accomplishments

  • Successfully initiated a Department Outreach program on SCBA Cleaning procedures. Program consists of teaching proper disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly for S8 masks.
