I handled payroll for approximately 120 employees using the AS400 system. I did timesheets for approximately 35 employees using a system called TACS. I lined up substitutes for teachers and teacher assistants. I kept records of every employee's personnel file. I kept up with how many sick, annual and personal leave days each employee used. I also kept up with how many child involvement hours that each faculty member used. They were allowed 8 hours per school year to use to attend things for their children. I planned meetings for the school principal. I made sure all payroll was signed by the staff and principal, copies were made, and delivered to county office by the due date each month. I set up contracts for extra employees that did extra jobs after school like collecting tickets at the door or gate for ballgames or extra curricular activities, teachers that worked on the weekends helping with different exams, and afterschool programs such as Twilight and Project Equal. I collected money and signed up students for drivers education classes through the North Carolina Driving School. I explained the details to the students and parents and made sure they received an information sheet about drivers education and forwarded the sign up sheet before the classes were to start the following Monday. I made the announcements and stated the Pledge of Allegiance and 'moment of silence' every morning over the intercom to keep the staff and students aware of what was going on or happening around the school. I made sure all employees knew how to access their employee portal, the substitute website and their orbit account (retirement system). I was readily available for helping the receptionist when she went on lunch break by answering phone calls and directing the public and students in the right direction. I set up tours of the school for families that were interested in sending their child/children to J. H. Rose High School in Greenville, NC. I helped the principal and four other assistant principals plan faculty meetings, luncheons for staff, and luncheons and meetings for different community leaders coming into our facility. I helped decorate for such occasions and ordered and picked up food, snacks, drinks, desserts, etc... I assisted staff in filling out various forms that they needed throughout the school year such as donated leave, change of name, address or phone number, child involvement leave, personal and annual leave forms, exception forms if they forgot to clock in or out, medical leave forms, and w-2 for state and federal tax withholdings. I also made student interns feel welcomed and made sure they filled out the appropriate paperwork so that they could substitute for their teacher throughout the semester. I made new employees feel welcomed by putting together a basket of supplies they could use in the classroom. I ordered all office and classroom supplies for the high school. I administered medicine to students that needed it throughout each year. I recorded the time and date that the student took their medicine for the school nurse. I was the recorder for emergencies such as lock downs, bomb threats and such. I was the front line person that made the announcement over the intercom letting all faculty and students know what the situation was. I called the appropriate persons needed for each situation. I recorded the start and end time on paper and reported the times and situation to county office. I helped administrators watch cameras for suspicious behaviors during this time and other times such as fights or if something was stolen or damage was done in the parking lot. I handled mail each day, put copies of important paperwork in the staff boxes, and let them know if they had a delivery that was too big for their box through text, email or calling their classroom or location. I kept up with how many staff we had for records each year and for parents that planned things for staff appreciation. I was trained to administer an epi pen as needed and how to help someone to their asthma inhaler. I also kept up with the staffs' copier number code and programmed a certain amount of copies that they could make throughout the year. If they requested more, I had to get it approved through the principal. I worked on copiers when they were jammed or needed a new toner or cartridges. If I couldn't fix it, I called in a ticket order for the company to come out to fix the problem. I put in work order tickets for problems around the school so that the correct department from county office could come out to fix the problem(s). I also put in orders for heating and air for extra curricular activities taking place around the school such as ballgames and concerts that were after hours or on the weekends, so that the attendees would feel comfortable with the correct heating or air needed for that time of the year. I did so many different jobs while holding this position. If you have more questions, just ask.
