Assist in resettling an Afghan refugee family of 6
Provide English language practice and participate in cultural orientation activities with refugee family to assist them in adjusting to life in the United States
Care for four Afghan boys, ages 2, 3, 6, and 7 when parents are working and/or have appointments by providing in home childcare or taking the boys to city parks to play
Collect and move furniture and other household goods in preparation for moving family into permanent housing
Assist in taking family members to medical and dental appointments
Take family members grocery shopping as needed
Assist with special events or programs, such as celebration dinners, World Refugee Day, and weekly cultural orientation seminars.
Use interpersonal communication skills to coordinate and convey information to others.
Supported engaging, fun and smooth-running events by helping with organization and planning.
