• Perform comprehensive patient assessments obtained patient histories and record medical information accurately
• Anesthesia, inductions, and monitoring, including EKG, Sp02, and capnography ensuring the patient stability during surgical and dental procedures
• Assist with surgical preparation, sterile technique, catheter placement, intubation, fluid therapy administration, and post operative recovery.
• Conduct laboraty diagnostics, including bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, cytology and in house imaging support (Radiographs, ultrasound assistance)
• Perform dental cleanings, full mouth radiographs, and assist with extractions as directed by the veterinarian.
• Triage incoming emergencies, assess patient status, and communicate critical findings to the veterinarian.
• Manage after hours or on call emergency cases, determine urgency and coordinate care with on call veterinarian.
• Educate clients on treatment plans, diagnostics, medications, postoperative care, preventative medicine, and long term management.
• Maintain accurate medical records, including controlled drug inventory, and treatment sheets.
• Assist in training new staff, supporting a positive and efficient workflow within the clinic.
• Ensure hospital cleanliness, proper equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

I am one of the few decision makers when it comes to finances.

As an intern, I shadowed the registered veterinary technician and assisted in a range of duties, including surgical support, dental prophylaxis, blood drays, laboratory work, and exotic animal workups and large animal fieldwork. This experience equipped me with a comprehensive skill set in both companion and large animal care.

I participated in a shadowing program at Animal Medical Center to explore the field of veterinary medicine. During this time, I observed RVTs and Veterinarians, gaining valuable insights into daily practices and confirming my interest in the profession.
