Machinist/ shop leader

As an employee of PMC, my duties were to set up on various machines with a variety of different jobs. I was also required to modified programs as needed to maximize production, and meet desired tool life.

From a simple firing pin to very complicated medical components, Once a set up was completed we would then record a first article to print specifications, and turn in to our Qc department for approval. once a first article was approved

we would then proceeded to start production.

some of my responsibilities also included operating up to seven machines at a time recording inspections according to prints.

operating machines also included deburring and polishing of parts as the came out of machine. as a shop leader i was tasked with a lot of duties and responsibilities.

other skills but not limited to:

• Manually set up machinery, swiss lathes, mills, co2 laser marker and manual grinders
• Laid out and set up work area to Maintained tight tolerances with design specifications.
• Trained and coached new team members on proper machine set-up procedures.
• Adhered to high level of safety by following company rules and regulations to prevent injuries.
• Assessed equipment after each production run and performed preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly.
• Maintained excellent production levels by completing regular inspections on
• Used CNC and manual equipment to perform both initial and final machining.
• Grind various types of tools
• Replacing guide bushing and collects
• Replacement of broken or worn out tools
• Worked directly from blueprints, patterns, sketches and specifications.
• Studied blueprints, work instruction, sketches, drawings and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances
• Selected, aligned and secured holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials
• Detected and reported malfunctions and out-of-tolerance machining.
• Removed burs on all machined parts.
• Lubricated parts and performed minor maintenance to improve machine function.
• Routinely monitored the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Monitor production, by measuring parts as they came out of machines, and recorded inspection as needed.
• Modification of program to produce a more precise product
• Evaluated components and final products against quality standards and manufacturing specifications.
• Created and deployed best practices to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
• Completed precise measurements using special tools.

i was in charge of operating up to three CNC mills, loaded and unloaded parts to maintain a high level of production. was require to maintain tight tolerances with desing specifications. Measured completed pieces to identify product irregularities and specifications non-conformance; adjusting machines to correct issues. Detected malfunctions and control errors by monitoring machine operation and checking completed pieces.
