My first role was to start a welding department within the company. I researched the needed equipment, developed the product designs and trained the welders. After the first year I took over the EDM department where I was first introduced to cnc programming. From there I branched out to fixture building, manual machining, CNC grinding, 3-axis CNC and finally CMM programming.
My current role is to perform all fixes and adjustments to our fixtures while also programming for CMM. This includes repairing old fixtures and tuning in new fixtures to meet customer tolerances. The software I am most familiar with is PC-DMIS, Esprit, and Cimatron.
My main responsibility is to maintain a safe environment for all shooters at our indoor range. I monitor guests and enforce rules when necessary. If an accident occurs I am responsible for providing initial medical care.
My roles at Unique Model were similar to Arbor. I began as a fixture builder but transitioned into CMM programming. My primary duty was to measure and repair fixtures and gages. On occasion i would be called upon to perform gage repeatability studies, and part layouts. The software utilized at Unique Model is PC_DMIS and VISI.
Similar to AllTech, I took a position here as a fabricator. The main difference here was the product types. Instead of automated systems we focused on conveyors and packaging systems. Here at AEI I furthered my knowledge of fabrication techniques to include more sheet metal working.
This was my first job in the skilled trades. I worked full time while attending GRCC. At All Tech I was required to complete various weldments with minimal supervision. The weldments varied material and size. Size would vary from several cubic inches to several stories in height. The material used would range from aluminum, mild steel, tool steel and stainless steels. It was here where I truly learned about work ethic and working as a team to accomplish difficult tasks.
