Home Construction
I have worked with Square One Architecture for 15+ years. In that time I have developed different skills in the design, building, planing, and governmental fields.
Allow me to take you through the process of what my work entails. communicating with the client and determining needs, and wants for their building. Doing site surveys of existing lots or buildings. Laying out (in CAD) a preliminary floor plan with the local city's setback or additional requirements from the CBC. Once the client has approved the plan we can start fleshing out the building: 3D modeling, section, elevation, layouts (framing, ceiling, furniture), schedules (door, window, wall, ceiling, lighting, equipment), details, and lot / building information. Coordinating with structural, MEP, and fire engineers. Compiling sheets and submitting to the city or county. After approval making site visits and speak to the contractor.
I enjoy being in the field and finding solutions to problems. I enjoy taking a 2D drawing and translating it to 3D. Which helps the client, builder, or city visualize what we are trying to accomplish. It also helps coordinate with other disciplines (MEP). And resolve problems before they become an issue. I also enjoy working with my hands whether it's in building or mechanics.
