Abilities

  • Firefighter: As a Firefighter I improve and keep up on my skills by training and studying to ensure a fluid and systematic response in order to keep my crew and myself safe. I am assigned to clean and maintain not only my equipment but also the apparatus's I am assigned to and my station.   • Driver Operator: I am assigned to operate and maintain any and all vehicles I am assigned to, getting the crew to and from the incident quickly but safely. It is my responsibility to keep track and ensure all equipment is accounted for and the apparatus is in good clean working condition. As a driver I am responsible for knowing my district including the facilities, roads, and any priority buildings/equipment in that area. As a Driver Operator I'm assigned to drive and operate firefighting vehicles, such as Pumpers, Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles, and Wild land Type III vehicle.
  • Wild-land Firefighter: As a Wild-land Firefighter I am responsible for being aware of any and all surroundings, changes in the weather, and knowing where all my escape routs, safety zones, deployment spots, lookouts, etc. are at all times to ensure my crew and my own safety. It is my responsibility to stay up to date on all changes to strategies, tactics, and procedures throughout my time on and off the fire-ground. I ensure my equipment to include my apparatus, tools and equipment, and safety equipment is up to par and in working order. I am responsible for staying healthy and fit in order to ensure quality and performance throughout the fire.
