  • Serve as primary teacher for three different group classes.
  • Poco Players: Teach group violin classes to absolute beginners, ages 3-6 using the principles of the Suzuki method. Teach music fundamentals, such as steady beat, rhythm, pitch, and ear training, as well as basic violin technique.
  • Preludio Players: Teach group violin and cello classes for students ages 4-7 using the principles of the Suzuki method. Build on the skills learned in Poco Players and expand into more complicated but age appropriate repertoire and musical ideas.
  • Accelerando: Teach a traditional string orchestra class to students ages 7-15. Select appropriate music for the age and ability of the students that also reflects the values of the organization. Expand on music reading and fundamentals as well as technique while saving time to rehearse repertoire in a 50 minute class.
  • Send out clear and concise homework assignments for practice and set expectations for student progress.
  • Plan and execute a summer camp for the purposes of student development and recruitment for the organization, including deciding dates, repertoire, structure, and teaching plans.
  • Assist with delegation of responsibilities to other members of the organization and volunteers as necessary.
