Payroll and Benefits Administrator

  • Manages payroll processing of 100-250 employees/contractors to include any compensation changes, retro-pay, and commissions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Audits timekeeping records and communicates with supervisors if any issues arise
  • Prepares financial reports (summaries of earnings, paid time off, 401k, hours, etc.)
  • Collaborates with Accounting and Finance departments to set up/verify state taxes and update in HRIS System (Paylocity)
  • Update Unemployment Tax Rates (18 states)
  • Completes employee verifications, unemployment claims, and updates records
  • Administers Compensation Plan in Paylocity for annual merit Increases/bonuses
  • Processes enrollments and terminations for 90 employees (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401K, COBRA) and assists with any benefits-related inquires. Informs on eligibility, benefit summaries, costs, and open enrollment.
  • Manages leave of absences (FMLA, Short-Term Disability, PTO, Maternity Leave, etc.)
  • Maintains 401k process on Empower for changes, setup, and discrepancies
  • Monitors benefits administration systems (Paylocity, Empower, Companion Life, SunLife, MGIS, Flores) to ensure enrollments, contributions, and payroll deductions are accurate
  • Reviews monthly benefit invoices and contact insurance company if any discrepancies
  • Submits Workers Compensation Claims to insurance companies on behalf of employee
  • Extends offer to candidate and completes employee file
  • Managed onboarding process to include E-Verify, I-9, acknowledgements, trainings, background checks, first day info)
  • Supports project management, process improvements, and policy compliance for employment laws for state local, and federal regulations
