Accomplishments

  • Supervised team of 10 staff members.
  • Collaborated with team of 100+ in the development of and execution of the Veteran Health Information Exchange Program (VHIE) at the Iowa City VAMC. In a single year, I oversaw the collection of 9,145 program consents/authorizations from Veteran patients. Resulting in increase availability of patient health information as well as improved clinical adoption of VHIE.
  • Documented and resolved need for additional software training to view non VA health data collected via VHIE. Created and lead "Lunch and Learn" sessions allowing VHA staff to have the opportunity for training at their convenience. In a single year, these efforts resulted in an increase of 515% in documents retrieved from non VA community Health providers.
