I am a born and raised Eastern Montana native. I live on a farm in Cohagen, about 60 miles North of Miles City, MT, with my husband, Colin, and my three beautiful children, Jace, Cooper, and Presley. I have worked as a nurse since 2008, and after my husband was in a horrific accident operating farm equipment and spent eight days in a burn center, I decided to take a break from acute care nursing and began working in a small facility in my hometown, Jordan, MT. I knew that I needed the challenge of a career that made me use my brain regularly and kept me learning and growing. I applied to FNP school in the spring of 2018, was accepted, and began my education that October. One of the things I am proudest of as a healthcare provider is the trust and rapport I can build with my patients. Life has taught me the importance of good mental health, and my journey to becoming an FNP honed in on our mental health crisis in Montana. I would love to further my education to provide the best evidence-based care to my patients struggling with these "silent diseases." I also love caring for my pediatric patients. Working as a pediatric and PICU nurse taught me valuable skills to care for these tiny patients when they are ill or injured and at their most vulnerable. I appreciate you looking at my application and am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to your team.
