Ernest Karpeles

• From 1996 until the present, worked on a wide variety of movies, TV shows, and TV commercials
• Worked as a Location Assistant, Assistant Location Manager, Location Scout and Location Manager
• Duties included researching and finding locations, working with municipalities to find and secure viable locations for filming, making agreements with location owners, getting all necessary permits for filming, arranging for the parking of film vehicles, hiring and acting as liason with police departments, and on working on set to insure a smoothe filming experience that satisfies both my production team and the municipalities and locations where we film.

• Provided animals for film, TV and TV commercials
• On Twelve Monkeys and Gummo, I served as Animal Cordinator, researching and hiring trainers and animals to provide a wide range of animals, as well as working on set with the trainers.

• Worked as an animal wrangler for NYC’s largest animal agency
• Handled animals for films, TV, TV commercials, Broadway shows, operas, still photography
• Duties included working in the office taking bookings, reading and breaking down scripts, training and handling animals on sets and stage.

Lived in the zoo, and worked on the cat section caring for big cats, wolves and monkeys.

• Participated in the wildlife conservation trainee program
• Lived and worked in the zoo, caring for the animals in all sections of the zoo, including many highly endangered species.
