- Accurate and timely documentation of all interventions and patient responses

• Provided care within 30-bed, Level 2 Trauma Center ER
• Care collaboration with numerous ER professionals and hospital departments
• Managed average of 12-17 emergency room patients per shift
• Perform focused and complex patient assessments
• Planning and implementation of interventions
• Evaluated episodic and acute responses to numerous physical and psychological problems
• Assisted with numerous physician and nurse-managed procedures including procedural sedation, various codes, wound management, trauma stabilization, stroke care, diagnostic testing, catheter management, triage, among others
• Educated patients and families on plan and course of care, disease prevention and discharge care.

• Specializing in patient care within Pre-op, PACU, and Endoscopy

Pre-Op duties include but not limited to:

• Preparing 10-20 patients daily for surgery according to specialty (ortho, trauma, OB/GYN, simple cardiology, endoscopy, eyes, pain)
• Administration of pre-operative medications and other orders
• IV insertion
• Assisting anesthesiologists with epidurals, nerve blocks, difficult IVs
• Care coordination with radiology, lab, recovery room, OR, surgeons, family members, med-surg and ICU for in-patient pre-op
• Reporting of special patient needs to anesthesia and OR team

PACU duties include but not limited to:

• Recovery of MAC, general anesthesia patients including Philips monitoring of vital signs, focused assessment of relevant operative areas, etc
• Management of postoperative complications (nausea, vomiting, pain, bleeding, ventilators, bandaging, casts, crutch reinforcement, etc) and consult with anesthesiologists to manage orders
• Discharging/ transferring to hospital floor according to hospital policy and patient condition
• Manage medical emergencies accordingly

Endoscopy circulator duties include but not limited to:

• Manage surgical time outs for accuracy according to Universal Protocol
• Documentation during procedure
• Assist with intra-op complications and overall room flow between surgeon and GI tech
• Manage specimen collection

• This site provides a safe location for community members that test positive for COVID-19 to quarantine
• As Charge Nurse, duties involved triaging admissions based on level of care needed, evaluate patient symptoms and vital signs to determine level of care required
• Stay in constant communication with physician on call
• Document assessments and all medications provided
• Delegate as appropriate to Staff RNs, medical techs, EMS
• Coordinate care between public health department, local hospitals, rehab facilities, and community members.
