Ethan Castagne

At Alta Equipment Group, I am currently a customer pay field service tech. I schedule, manage, order parts, perform Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical, A/C repairs, and some welding on a wide variety of models of equipment. I work on our OEMs of Volvo, JLG, Genie, Takeuchi, various models of water pumps, mobile power generation engines including Cummins, Fpt, Isuzu, and Kohler engine. I am currently maintaining Articulated Volvo haul trucks at a mine on Drummond island, which includes pm contracts, warranty repairs, and customer pay repairs.

I am responsible for scheduling, ordering parts, maintaining, weld repairs, and fabricating on a fleet of over the road and off highway equipment for four different locations in Chippewa county. I currently work on everything from building maintenance, small engines, on highway, and off-road equipment. I am also required to be available to operate equipment to remove snow as needed.

During my time at AIS, I went from a shop technician to Resident Field Tech. I was responsible for M32 north to the bridge and the EUP area. I scheduled and ordered parts for repairs and fleet maintenance contracts. While I was in field service, I worked on Aggregate, Production Class Machines, Forestry, and the smaller Constructions machines. During this time, I completed Capstone classes as well as many other specialty classes for aggregate equipment.

During my shift, I worked as the third shift CNC lathe operator and go to for help with lathes and other areas for the whole shop. I worked CO-OP through high school for 5 hours a day before becoming a full-time employee in 2009. Later on, in my time at Precision Edge, I learned to program and perform setups on prototype limited run parts. Completed production and quality logs to document and track activity. Later in the time that i spent at this job i was trained more on the programming side and adjusted machine programs.
