I started my career working in the fast food industry, where I quickly learned the importance of strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. These early experiences taught me how to handle stress effectively, manage customer interactions, and maintain a strong work ethic while balancing multiple responsibilities. Seeking a more challenging and rewarding career path, I enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic and was stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
During my time in the Army, I gained extensive hands-on experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of military vehicles under demanding conditions. I developed strong problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and the ability to perform high-stakes repairs efficiently. My role required precision, discipline, and technical expertise, all of which I carried with me beyond my military service. After completing my enlistment, I honorably exited the military and returned to Texas to begin my transition into the civilian workforce.
I started my civilian career as a team truck driver at Covenant Transport, where I was responsible for long-haul freight operations, working closely with co-drivers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries across the country. This role deepened my understanding of logistics, trip planning, and adherence to DOT regulations while allowing me to refine my driving skills with 53-foot trailers. Managing extended hours on the road, maintaining accurate logbooks, and working under strict deadlines reinforced my ability to stay focused and disciplined in high-responsibility roles.
After gaining valuable experience in transportation, I shifted into the automotive industry as a Lube Technician at Gene Messer Ford. In this position, I performed routine maintenance such as oil changes, fluid inspections, tire rotations, and minor repairs. Working in a dealership setting exposed me to a variety of vehicles and repair techniques while allowing me to apply my previous mechanical experience in a commercial setting. I took pride in delivering quality service, working efficiently in a team, and ensuring customer satisfaction through precise maintenance work.
Currently, I am employed at KLB Breedon & Sons as a milk shuttler, utilizing my Class A CDL with a tanker endorsement to transport dairy products safely and efficiently. This role requires a keen understanding of load balancing, route planning, and vehicle handling under different driving conditions. I take great care in ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, that the product is delivered in top condition, and that each route is completed on time.
With a well-rounded background in mechanical maintenance, trucking, and logistics, I bring a strong work ethic, adaptability, and technical expertise to every role I take on. My ability to work under pressure, maintain equipment at high standards, and effectively communicate with teams makes me a valuable asset in any transportation or mechanical setting. I am always looking for opportunities to continue learning, improving my skills, and advancing in the transportation and logistics industry.
