Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:

  • Perform inspections and maintenance on T-56 Turboprop engines on C-130 Hercules aircraft, including small gas turbine engines. Inspects engines and components for cracks, dents, attachment security, service, leaks, foreign matter, clearances, deformity, and proper safeties.
  • Removes and installs engine in aircraft, including disconnecting and connecting fuel, air, oil and hydraulic lines. Analyzes and evaluates operating engines, and makes engine performance adjustments.
  • Recognizes troubles through evaluating engine and engine systems. Analyzes trouble indication and determines possible cause using technical order diagrams. Isolates engine problems, using engine test and troubleshooting equipment and instruments. Accomplishes field level repair, intermediate maintenance, and engine buildup.
  • Disassemble engines to repair and replace engine parts, to include removing and disassembling engine components. Analyzes engine inspection findings to determine need for repairs. Assembles engine, adhering to prescribed procedures, torque values, safety methods, and clearances.
  • Accomplishes corrosion control and preventative maintenance to control future corrosion. Performs pre operational and post operational inspections. Removes, installs, and repairs propellers. Repairs propeller malfunctions pertaining to control systems and associated components.
  • Disassembles, cleans, inspects, and reassembles propeller and dome assemblies.
  • Performs duties on C-130 test cell such as testing brand new motors and also deep troubleshooting on problem motors trying to save assists on base as in spare motors. Trains the new employees and lower ranking people skills I have learned and assist them in the continuation and upgrade training.
  • Documents maintenance actions in AFTO 781/244 series forms and in GO-81 Mananagment Information System. Performs duties of a 2A671H, to include engine run certification, Red-X, training and organizing personel and materials.
  • Collaborated with other departments to ensure seamless integration between propulsion systems and other aircraft systems during modifications or upgrades.

  • As a General Maintence Mechanic I preformed a wide variety of tasks. These tasks ranged from general oil changes to full removals and installations of multiple heavy line components such as engines, and transmissions.
  • On a day to day basis I had to troubleshoot problems across a wide spectrum of vehicles and systems, then take the necessary corrective actions to resolve the issue.
  • I was also involved in the complete overhaul of engines, transmissions, and differentials. I had to correctly identify torque specifications, correct tools to complete the task, and the right troubleshooting methods to fix the problem.
  • Worked under guidance of experienced professionals to learn trade best practices and techniques.
