IBM Functional Analyst

  • IBM provided a custom HR Software as a Service solution based on Oracle PeopleSoft for several Federal Agencies know as HR Smart and HR Links. The IBM HRLOB Program supports well over half a million users to its HR Smart and HR Links software.
  • Contribution:
  • As a Functional Analyst, I led and assisted in the implementation of new features/updates to the VA or GSA PeopleSoft service using Agile. This included gathering business requirements, business rules, creating stories and formatting a design based off the customer's needs. I created and published test scripts and scenarios for our several testing cycles. I assisted in UAT tickets that may occur during testing. Lastly, I was involved in the final release, cut over, and post release hyper care. Other duties as a Functional Analyst were being assigned PRD tickets and resolving them. I also, assisted other analysts across other administrations that fall under the HRLOB program.

IBM Business Analyst/PMO Analyst/Change Management Analyst

  • Implemented Oracle HCM for Zachry. Implemented Core HR, Payroll, Absence Management, Cloud Recruiting.
  • Contribution:
  • As a Business Analyst/ HCM Consultant for the payroll tower lead, I was responsible business requirements documentation, system configuration, testing and training support.
  • As a PMO resource, I inputted and updated the billing forecast for the IBM side of the project. I also recorded and kept track of RAID items.
  • As a Change Management Resource, I created and reviewed training documents for Zachry. I also, met with the client weekly and prepare formal sign off documents for training materials to give to PMO and client PMO.
  • As a Payroll Consultant/Business Analyst, I assisted the payroll lead in collecting business requirements and tracking action items during high level client stakeholder meetings (remote and on-site.) I also gained experience in configuring cloud. This including pre-payroll configuration, payroll configuration and post payroll configuration. I have gained experience in writing and collaborating on Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and Business Process Design Documents (BPDD) for design purposes. I created Quick Reference Guides (QRG) based off the BPDD's for training purposes. I drafted and published testing scenarios and scripts for our testing cycles. The testing cycles that were completed were SIT, Parallel, and UAT. I tested these scenarios in cloud and troubleshooted bugs. I tracked and recorded the bugs and test scripts in Jira. I have experience in OIT testing, quality control, and demoing reports for the client. Lastly, I used Shibumi, Jira, and Smart Sheet to track the projects milestones, action items, and change requests.
  • As a PMO resource I gained experience in resourcing and budgeting for a project. I gained relevant experience in using IPPF. Using IPPF I inputted the forecast each month for IBM and reviewed with the PM and forecast team. I also recording and tracked RAID items in different software's including Shibumi, Jira, and Smartsheet.
  • As a Change Management Resource, I created, reviewed, and documented training materials for all modules that IBM owned (Payroll, Core HR, Absence, ORC). I met with the client's change management team once a week. Here we discussed possible new training materials and planned for future materials. These training materials included QRGs, training demos, and training decks.

  • I worked as an Intern as Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell, LA and my role was to shadow and assist the Information Systems Department in various tasks. These tasks could include updating drivers for surgeons, assisting new nurses or doctors in setting their workstation, and troubleshooting.
