Ethan Porter

Xenia,OH

Summary

As a young adult I have acquired a unique blend of work experience and curated skillsets. During my time as a coffee barista for Coffee Hub, a local business in my hometown of Xenia, OH, I learned to maintain a level head during fast-paced, high-demand work hours, work effectively in a small workspace, often by myself, to accomplish a large task load systemically and quickly during closing shifts. I also learned excellent customer service by making people feel welcome and at ease in conversation, showing consideration and care with their complaints and striving to rectify mistakes and meet their standards when they communicated that they had not been met. As a Fulfillment Associate for Lowe's, I expanded my customer service skills and added limited powered equipment experience and specified technology and inventory practice to my skillset. I delved into my desire to nurture youth development and care for individuals as a camp counselor for Fox Valley Christian Action, driving my decision to switch my college major from Communication to Social Work and clarifying my desire to serve the community. Becoming a third-shift cleaning associate for DJ & D cleaning company tested my endurance and flexibility, gifted me with invaluable team building and detail-attentiveness, and enhanced my teachability, humility, conflict resolution, and communication skills. Finally, as a warehouse associate at Springfield's Aldi Distribution Center, I have acquired physical endurance, agility, high-speed decision-making, and skills involving the ability to perform multiple tasks at once in a timely fashion, while in constant motion.

  • Fulfilling grocery orders for stores assigned to my headset by the shipping office staff
  • Using voice commands to operate my headset and auditorily record all product that I have placed on my pallet-build, ensuring an accurate count of what the store will be getting
  • Taking product in cases from assigned slots in the separate rooms of the Perishable side of the warehouse, placing them in strategic locations on my two pallets to build towers of product with strong structural integrity
  • Driving my tugger, with product in tow, skillfully and safely through tight spaces, around turns, and through doorways in such a way that the tower contents of my pallets do not topple from excessive speed, bumps, stops, or turns
  • Demonstrating good spatial awareness as I drive my tugger through aisles and racks of product, ensuring that I safely and considerately navigate, accommodate for and move around other co-workers who are walking on foot, driving their own tuggers, or driving forklifts
  • Moving heavy cases of product by hand to my tugger, then lifting it up and placing it in progressively higher locations on my pallet build
  • Simultaneously moving quickly and at a brisk pace while grabbing product and walking with it, building it, and driving to the next product slot, all while making real time voice record inputs and edits into my headset, so as to maintain a high-quality, hourly rate of cases selected, of which I am accountable to my direct supervisor to maintain
  • Operating the plastic wrap machines on the main floor to automatically wrap my pallet builds tightly with plastic packing wrap, ensuring safe operation, trouble-shooting technical issues or delays, and quickly moving through the process so as to accommodate my co-workers who are waiting to use the machine next
  • Hand-wrapping pallet builds quickly and tightly when all wrap machines are in use and ensuring a quality wrap
  • Placing wrapped pallet builds that make up a complete store order in the assigned shipping lane, where they will be transported by the load team to their store truck and sent out to the appropriate store
  • Assisting co-workers in rebuilding and picking up a pallet spill when it occurs, demonstrating workplace camaraderie and ensuring team-building and minimal productivity delays
