I grew up on a beef cattle farm and was introduced to hard work at a young age. I learned many different skills including basic carpentry, equipment repair and maintenance I am comfortable doing most kinds of work that many others my age wouldn't. In High-school I enjoyed playing football, basketball and track. Im currently enrolled at SUNY Polytechnic Institute studying Civil Engineering. In my spare time I run my own firewood business which I have done for 4-5 years now. The past 2 summers between college I worked as a Transportation-Construction Inspector for the NYSDOT region 7. I performed various tests mostly on concrete and soil compaction and learned a great deal about the road/bridge construction process. This past summer I was given a great more deal of responsibility working at NYSDOT and tasked with ensuring the construction of a new bridge in Brownville NY was safe and that the requirements were being met as per the plans. Also recognizing when the plans need revision or the work being done is incorrect.
