1978 I graduated high school and was offered a job to work and learn carpentry until I decided what I wanted to do with my life. I was 18 at the time. I caught on quickly building track homes and by the age 20 I was given the blueprints and my own crew of men to build the homes. I did that for a couple years before being offered a job with the residential carpenters union in 1982.
