disorders, Germ Cell tumors, GVHD and other cell transplant

• Assumes the charge nurse role on night shift

• ICU trained; Manages patient with higher level of acuity: patients

on ventilators or with increased oxygen requirement, patient

needing vasopressors and other medications that needs frequent

monitoring and assessment

• Administers medications, treatments, and therapies to patients in

accordance with established protocols and standards of care

• Administers chemotherapy infusions and monitor patient

response

• Assesses patient's pain and developed strategies for pain

management

• Monitor changes in patient conditions to ensure quality and safety

standards and reported any changes to the physician on duty

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of

care

• Provides emotional support to patients and family members

during times of distress

• Adheres to infection control protocols and standards of practice to

reduce the risk of infection and cross-contamination

• Educate patients and family members on cell transplant related

information

• Administer blood transfusions and intravenous (IV) medications

safely and efficiently

• Utilizes electronic health records (EHR) software to document

patient information and treatment plans with Cerner

• Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process within established hospital, divisional and unit specific policies and procedures, standards and protocols.
• Demonstrate knowledge and clinical assessment skills appropriate to clinical area.
• Take direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations.
• Document all Assessments, interventions and other pertinent care through oral and written communication.
• Promotes continuity of care through oral and written communication.
• Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills when interacting with patients/families, other health care team members and members of other departments.

• Direct report to the Head Nurse or Charge Nurse.
• Plans for a total nursing care for critically ill patients according to their individual needs utilizing nursing process and scientific problem solving approach.
• Participates actively during cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
• Continuously assess patient’s condition, and applied appropriate intervention based on patients assessment.
• Accurately recognize cardiac arrhythmias and report to Physician immediately and applied necessary intervention.
• Observe keenly patients neurologic status.
• Taking care of all necessary measures rendered in pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care according to each patient's plan of care.
• Establish nursing care plan based to the needs, history, physical examination, laboratory result, and health condition of the patient.
• Assisting Physician in performance of bed side diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like, Lumbar Puncture, Emergency EVD insertion, Intubation ( calculation and administration of emergency drugs, sedation or paralyzing agents during intubation ) C.P.R.R. ,Code blue response, Central Line Insertion, Cut Down procedure, Intra-osseous line insertion, Arterial Line insertion, Chest Tube insertion, Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter insertion, Exchange Transfusion, Biopsies, Bronchoscopy, Endoscopy, Bone Marrow Aspiration, Incision and Drainage of abscess, Wound Debridement and Wound Dressing etc.
• Medication administration with special consideration on patients’ rights on medication administration. Handling and taking care of Narcotics and Controlled Medications.
• Performs task as Registered I.V. Nurse like expertise in external jugular vein and peripheral vein insertion, Intravenous infusion, transfusion of different types of blood products, total parenteral nutrition, arterial or venous blood collections for laboratory examinations.
• Nursing Procedures ( ECG taking, NGT insertion with feeding / gastric lavage, Vital Signs taking and recording, HGT monitoring, Catheter insertion / bladder irrigation, Gastrostomy care and feeding, Suctioning, Enemas, colostomy care, wound care, tracheostomy tube care, wound care management etc.)
• Care of patient connected to Mechanical or Nasal CPAP, BIPAP and other treatment requiring O2 therapy to include nebulizations.

• Direct report to the Head Nurse / Charge Nurse
• Provide basic nursing care to Patients requiring medical care in both acute & long term settings, admission, discharge, & transferring of Patients.
• Performs task as Registered I.V. Nurse like Intravenous insertion, Intravenous infusion, blood transfusion, total parenteral nutrition and hyper alimentation, arterial or venous blood gas collection, blood collections for laboratory examinations.
• Assist in CPR & other life saving measures, calmly & effectively during emergency situations (calculation & administration of emergency drugs & other emergency procedures.
• Administer medications with special considerations on Patients rights on medication administration.
• Performing independently nursing procedures (ECG taking, NGT insertion, vital signs taking recording, HGT monitoring, catheter insertion / flushing, suctioning, enema, colostomy care, tracheostomy tube care, etc.)
• Taking care of all necessary measures rendered in pre-operative, intra-operative and post operative care according to each patient’s plan of care.
• Work with others in implementing plan of care.
• Works well in a code.
