Provide comprehensive neurosurgical coverage in the hospital and clinic. First assist in all major elective and emergent cases. Experience with craniotomies, peripheral nerve surgeries, axial spinal surgeries, adult deformity surgeries, and vascular surgeries.
In the ambulatory setting I see new patients, follow-up patients, and postoperative patient. The expectation is that I give recommendations on surgeries, pain management, or conservative therapies. I am supported by an attending physician as needed.
In the hospital setting, I round on post-surgical patients and intensive care unit patients. Provide support for endovascular aneurysm repairs, subarachnoid hemorrhages, status post thrombectomy patients, or other patient’s requiring neuro-critical care.
I cover first call for all emergency department providers including MDs. I take all phone calls from outside hospitals and the surrounding areas. I am able to make sound decisions based off of information presented and coordinate transfer with our access center or give recommendations for outpatient follow-up. I will discuss surgical cases with my attending if need be.
