Work History

Undergraduate Experimental Fluid Dynamics Research

SDSU Laboratory of Advanced Experimental Fluid Dynamics
San Diego, CA
05.2022 - 05.2023
  • Apprenticeship under Dr. Xiaofeng Liu at the SDSU Laboratory of Advanced Experimental Fluid Dynamics with a focus on Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)
  • Gained experience with SOLIDWORKS design and CNC manufacturing of experimental models, operation of San Diego State's Low Speed Wind Tunnel, operation of a class 4+ laser, data acquisition in a low error tolerance environment, and applying engineering knowledge to iteratively problem solve and progress
  • Worked in a team consisting of both graduate and undergraduate students to design tomographic PIV experiments, determine and carry out experimental procedures, record data, and assist in the publication of findings
  • Trained and oriented team members as a research lead during the aerodynamic study of NASA's Prandtl-D design
  • Managed multiple research projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Presented research results at the 15th International Symposium on Particle Image Velocimitry 2023 conference.
