Shop Administrator
Digital Scoreboards Ohio
04.2024 - 11.2024
The first month, I assisted with projects out in the field installing scoreboards, video boards, cameras, and performing service jobs for sporting events to enhance the attendees' experience. After gaining essential knowledge about the business, I transitioned into a shop administrator, beginning by organizing and decluttering the warehouse by assigning items to their own distinct location. I collected inventory on important materials for projects, and created portable kits of these materials to maintain organization and for the convenience of the field workers, also saving time and money. When inventory was low, I ordered new materials. I was responsible for scheduling appropriate work truck maintenance. Additionally, I learned how to operate and maintain an industrial vinyl printer in order to adhere advertisements onto metal that would be installed on scoreboards.
While performing all of these responsibilities, I also received online training for OSHA 30, earning my OSHA 30 certification. This education on workplace safety aided me while working in teams of field workers, ensuring the safety of all employees. I also earned certifications in forklifts and scissor/aerial lift, learning about machinery safety.
Veterinary Technician
Feeder Creek Veterinary Services
07.2023 - 04.2024
In July 2023 I accepted a promotion to become a veterinary technician.
I performed all of my responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with many pet visits per day in scheduled/emergency appointments, providing vaccinations and medications for a doctor to administer, administering vaccines/medications, performing blood draws, conducting x-rays and laser therapy, filling medications, scheduling appointments in person and over the phone. I took detailed medical histories of patients, educating pet owners about their pets' needs, illnesses, procedures, and preventative treatments while also creating an empathetic environment for the clients and their animals. I charted information through computer work programming, including expenses during appointments and surgery, and writing invoices and estimates for the clients.
Every Thursday, I assisted the doctors in surgeries. I greeted and checked in pre-surgery patients, and drafted forms for each with required procedures, charges and recovery needs. I was responsible for shaving and disinfecting the surgical site prior to the surgery, and during the surgery I monitored the patients' vitals, anesthesia, and oxygen. I was also responsible for performing dental hygiene procedures and nail trims. After surgery, I detailed important surgical information in patient charts for clinic records. I also discharged patients to their owners and communicated any needs the pets have for recovery.
Kennel Technician/Veterinary Assistant
Feeder Creek Veterinary Services
11.2019 - 07.2023
As a kennel technician, I had many responsibilities to maintain the wellbeing of boarding animals. These responsibilities included sanitizing kennels before and after boarding, cleaning dishes, doing laundry, feeding and watering, walking the animals outside, administering prescriptions, communicating with the owners about their pets, checking the animals in and out of boarding, and meeting any additional needs the pets had. This environment was extremely fast-paced and required excellent time management and patience when working with stressed animals.
While in this position, I occasionally was called to assist doctors as a veterinary assistant. These tasks included restraining animals for appointments and blood work, and cleaning surgical instruments.
