As a Material Control Specialist here in MD&F, my day-to-day consists of collaborating with other program planners, operators, and other MCSs on an hourly basis. Editing and fulfilling MD&F routing requests on SharePoint, completing routing changes for production orders, receiving and inspecting materials, ordering vendor materials, and creating walk-up work orders are all daily tasks that drive how strict my workload may be for that specific day. I use my expertise in SAP and inventory optimization to make the process easier for operators on the floor every single day, and I have built trust to be relied upon when discrepancies arise, whether physical or electronic. I work in various work centers, physically moving material, replacing travelers, and delivering/receiving material every single day. I am also placing work orders in process daily so that their routing may be started. Working with the E2D, RMR, ATP, and ZZWUW programs has allowed me to build my knowledge of program processes and efficiency within the workplace, enhancing data accuracy while fostering cross-functional collaboration. I'm always engaging in effective communication and problem-solving skills to build trust with the other employees in my cell, ensuring timely material availability, and compliance with safety standards.
