Work History

Assistant Night Manager

QuikTrip
03.2025 - Current

As an Overnight Assistant Manager for QuikTrip, I'm responsible for performing various tasks to keep the store open and running throughout the night while also preparing the store for the morning shift to take over. Most of my hours are spent working alone, and hence I'm responsible for holding myself accountable and maintaining a tight schedule to finish all tasks in a timely manner.

Some of my tasks include:

  • Performing a shift-walk of the store and a financial audit at the start of my shift to catch errors in task completion or money handling. This is so I can provide constructive feedback on issues that could be improved upon to the manager I'm relieving, and to reduce possible financial errors within the accounting software.
  • Running trash, sweeping, and mopping; cleaning store equipment, such as the floor scrubber, tea urns, pizza ovens, and roller grills; and keeping glass free of excessive smudges and fingerprints.
  • Using proper food safety techniques to check out-of-date items, fill ingredients, clean ovens, and make breakfast sandwiches, tacos, pizza, and other food items.
  • Receiving merchandise orders and recording documentation of items received and possible item shortages. Once received, I'm responsible for ensuring the order is stored properly and merchandised if possible.
  • Performing true-ups on merchandise around the store to keep inventory levels up to date, which facilitates the ordering process for when the morning shift writes our orders.
  • Using alignments to adjust shelves and merchandise items to their proper place.

At QuikTrip, you perform many tasks to keep the store running, but above all else, QuikTrip's number 1 priority in-store is customer service. QuikTrip provided me with comprehensive training concerning how to interact with customers in an upbeat and courteous manner while providing quick and concise service.

Theater Technician

LDHS Theater Department
01.2024 - 06.2024

As a Technician for the LDHS Theater Department, I worked within a team of technicians to plan and produce a smooth-running show and improvise when necessary when live elements didn't follow our schedule. This was a paid extracurricular activity for my High School Theater Department; we had W-2s and everything! This work experience is something that I'll always be grateful I had the opportunity to try, since it allowed me to face many of my fears and emerge from my sheltered bubble before joining the workforce after High School.

This job introduced me to many new experiences each day; one day I would be communicating from the side of the stage between the stage manager and the director in the sound booth, other days I would be climbing a 100-foot ladder to load weights onto the pulley systems located on the top catwalk. Each day brought a new experience, and I'm grateful to have been given the chance to learn from them.

Some of the tasks I accomplished are:

  • Applied proper safety techniques when climbing the ladder to the top and mid catwalks, equipped a harness, and used cables to attach to the safety railings provided. We learned to use proper communication when ascending/descending the ladder and letting others know when you're clear of the ladder.
  • Managed sound equipment such as speakers, various audio cables, microphones, and soundboards. Worked sound system during rehearsals and shows, while adjusting start and cutoff timing of sound effects and songs when necessary, providing proper documentation of changes to properly communicate changes to the director and other technicians working sound systems.
  • Maintained and properly organized theatrical equipment and supplies when not in use. Tested equipment to be used in the show prior to rehearsals and the actual show.
