"The exposure to new places and new people is quite reviving, it helps me as a counselor learn new and diverse cultures and makes me become culturally sensitive to the needs of clients with diverse backgrounds and better serve them,  in a more individualized manner.  Above all to see how life functions in other communities whether human or natural life is humbling. Prior to moving to the US, I was a sailor, I traveled to over 30 different African countries, ate different varieties of food.
