Work History

Customer Service Representative

State Farm
Burlingame, CA
09.2021 - 08.2024
  • I was responsible for taking man phone calls over the phone to set up clients with a good rate for auto insurance. I also was responsible for in person appointments as well. This job included navigating through many situations that involved mental trouble shooting when it came to finances. It also included that i was able to think about side the box and de escalate situations when need be. I was responsible for great hospitality. No matter what the customer always came first and deserved to be treated with the upmost respect. My goal was that each customer left satisfied and felt that they could trust me to handle any conflict that may arise. When I wasn't helping a customer set up an account, I was busy making sure emails were being answered in a timely manner. I also had to organize files on the computer and in person at my cubicle. In this role, I used my communication skills with three different languages. I spoke Portuguese, Spanish and English simultaneously. This really helped customers with understanding concepts and leaving satisfied with their package.
  • Provided feedback from customers to management regarding service failures or customer concerns.

Receptionist/Patient Health Navigator

Stanford Hospital
Palo Alto
04.2020 - 05.2021
  • My role at Stanford started off as a Patient Navigator, but transitioned slowly into a Guest Services representative behind a desk. In this role, I would escort many people around the hospital to find their clinic. I would also assist others with disabilities to make sure they could locomotive via wheelchair. I had to memorize the layout of the hospital and be quick on my feet. Due to my patient escort only being a three-month-long contract, I had to resign. But luckily, a fill-in was needed for someone who would eventually come back by the end of the year, but I agreed to the conditional contract and continued to grow at Stanford. When I was behind the desk, I was the main point of contact for patients to speak to doctors and nurses. I assisted with scheduling appointments and checking clients in. As well as having follow-up emails in between about updates about patients. I handled heavy inbound and outbound calls regarding patients. I used the system called EPIC for scheduling and check-ins. Lastly, I was very focused on translating for native speakers, and that really made them feel at ease.

Waitress

Crepvine
Burlingame
08.2016 - 01.2018
  • My role was to take orders at tables, ringing up people's food. I needed to be fast on my feet due to the volume of customers at the restaurant. I would bounce from table to table, being friendly and attentive to customers' needs. I tried to make everything easy for the customer, like reading out the menu to them. This made them feel less overwhelmed and at home. If they ever needed refills or replacement condiments, I would be there to help. It doesn't matter how inconvenient the task was, I would always go above and beyond to help the customer. Even if I was in the middle of assisting, or helping, another table, I would stop what I was doing to help. I learned a lot of people skills because I had to be patient and kind.

Lead Sandwich Maker

Bonne Sante Natural Foods
Burlingame
07.2013 - 02.2014

I was responsible for making various sandwiches in a high-paced volume setting. Sandwiches had to be made on time and correctly. I had to memorize the sandwiches by heart in order to deliver them. When I wasn't making the sandwiches, I was ringing up the orders at the cashier and bagging the sandwiches. Eventually, I became shift lead and had to close the shop, which included putting away the food in the fridge and any sanitation at the station. For example, mopping and cleaning the restrooms. It was really busy all day and i had to keep up with the flow in order to avoid back up. I Resolved customer complaints in a professional manner regarding sandwich styles they did or didn't prefer.
