Work History

Dining Assistant

The bluffs assisted living
09.2022 - Current
  • I have been working at the bluffs since I was 15 as a dining assistant. I have gained a lot of experience being social with people I am familiar with and people I haven't met before. It has helped use and test my memory skills working in this position and helped me get used to working in stressful and busy situations. I have become very familiar with the residents and I love getting to socialize with them. It has been a great first job and an amazing working environment and I hope to be able to continue it a couple days a week on the side of hopefully starting a new job. some of the skills I have done are
  • Assisted residents with daily dining needs, ensuring comfort and satisfaction.
  • Maintained cleanliness and organization of dining areas, enhancing overall dining experience.
  • Collaborated with kitchen team to streamline food delivery processes and reduce wait times.
  • Ensured timely delivery of food orders from the kitchen to the guests'' tables without any errors or delays.
  • Streamlined table turnover rate with prompt clearing and resetting tasks.
  • Assisted with bussing tables and cleaning up spills.
  • Operated dishwashers and other kitchen equipment according to safety guidelines.

Elder Assistant

906 Home Services
06.2025 - 11.2025
  • The main reason for starting this job was to get familiar with taking care of elders with more one-on-one care rather than serving them their meals. It was nice getting to learn and get practice with skills while taking care of residents that I am already familiar with. It was a great learning experience for the time I worked but im looking into being able to use my CNA license and working in a new environment and getting a little bit better pay.
  • 906 home services is located at the bluffs and is for the people who need help with daily tasks but still want to be partially on their own and aren't ready for a nursing home yet.
  • some of the skills I have practiced
  • Assisted elderly clients with daily living activities, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Trained new staff on caregiving techniques and protocols, fostering a knowledgeable team environment.
  • Maintained accurate documentation of care provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Enhanced residents'' well-being by providing compassionate care and assistance with daily tasks.
  • Demonstrated patience while addressing memory loss-related challenges which resulted in reduced confusion among elders.
  • Improved quality of life for elders by engaging them in meaningful conversations, activities, and social interactions.
  • Managed household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to maintain a comfortable living environment for elders.
  • Assisted with medication administration to ensure timely intake and proper dosage, promoting overall health and safety.
  • Supported daily hygiene needs of patients by assisting with bathing, dressing, dental care and personal grooming.
  • Laundered items, changed sheets and made bed to keep patients' bedroom clean.
  • Guided patients to restroom to support bladder and bowel relief requirements.
  • Recorded patients' pulse, blood pressure and respirations (TPRs) to assess and document important health information.
  • Entrusted to handle confidential and sensitive situations in professional matter.
  • Checked patient vitals such as temperature, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.

Strengths

I would say I am a pretty kind and caring person especially towards people who show kindness and respect towards me but I always try to be nice to everyone despite how they might treat me. Once I get to know people I can be much more outgoing and friendly to them but at first I might be a little quiet. I am able to work in busy environments since I am used to working in a busy dining room with 2 other people to help serve 50+ residents

Weaknesses

I may be shy at first and im not very good at working in new environments and being around new people at first but once I get used to it then I will have no issues. Working in stressful situations can be one of my weaknesses if im doing something new but if I am familiar with what i am doing then it wont affect me much.
