- Supervise Custodial Staff: Oversee and coordinate the activities of the custodial team, ensuring efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance operations.
- Training and Development: Train new custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, safety procedures, and district policies.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are met and maintained.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely reordering.
- Scheduling: Create and manage work schedules for custodial staff to ensure adequate coverage during school hours and events.
- Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate minor repairs and maintenance tasks, and report major maintenance needs to the appropriate department.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all custodial activities comply with health and safety regulations, and conduct regular safety meetings and training.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the custodial department budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Event Setup and Support: Oversee setup and cleanup for school events, ensuring all areas are prepared and restored to their original condition.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between custodial staff, school administration, and other departments, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of custodial activities, maintenance requests, and safety incidents.
- Emergency Response: Coordinate and lead the custodial team in emergency response procedures, including cleaning up after incidents and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facility.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all custodial equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and in good working condition.
- Policy Implementation: Implement and enforce school district policies and procedures within the custodial team.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations of custodial staff, providing feedback, support, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and implement environmentally friendly cleaning practices and sustainability initiatives within the custodial operations.
