Led a DNA Inventory project where a microtome was used to cut 193 FFPE and Xenograft blocks. Each block produced ~30-40 tubes of 4x 20nm curls each. 24 tubes were bulk extracted, sheared, and placed into inventory for broad team usage. A poster was made and presented describing the workflow and purpose of this project.
Independently conducted experiments involving library preparation of cfDNA, FFPE, or cell-line DNA samples and sequenced resulting libraries on the Illumina Novaseq platform. Results were analyzed using JMP, Illumina SAV and were compiled into slide decks that were presented to subchapter.
Ordering reagents and consumables necessary for consistent lab workflow and inputting orders into a team inventory system.
Documented changes during experiments, noting unexpected issues arising during research activities.
Performed complex troubleshooting and assisted in leading initiatives to solve challenging scientific problems with assays or instrumentation.
Followed strict SOPs, protecting staff and assets while carrying out technical procedures and research protocols.

Maintained lab tidiness based on strict SOPs. Includes: Tidying up the lab room i.e wiping down benches with bleach/ethanol, defrosting and reorganizing CTUs, disposal of medical waste to appropriate waste room, maintaining pipette calibration and recording presence of active/non-active pipettes found in this space, maintaining proper lab documentation in a 5-point inspection binder.
Trained 20 new users in lab to expected SOP levels based on trainee position.
Re-stocked laboratory consumables as needed on a bi-weekly basis i.e pipette tips, water bottles, Qubit tubes/various tubes, biohazardous waste bins, reagent reservoirs, etc.
Ordering equipment/reagents as needed to maintain adequate stock of reagents i.e Tapestation/BioAnalyzer reagents + accessories, Qubit reagents, microfuges, vortexers, etc
Led large scale reorganization of lab involving moving/removing equipment with assistance from RSS systems team.
Ensured that all equipment was in working condition and reaching out to repair team when an instrument was not working properly.
