Summary
I, Officer Montes #08924 am respectfully requesting to be considered for the position Patrol Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Drone Cadre (Collateral Duty). I have been a Police Officer with Los Angeles Airport Police since 2008, assigned to Patrol Services Section.
During my time in patrol, my normal duties consist of responding to calls for service, apprehend criminals, perform traffic-related functions and respond to calls at passenger screening stations. In multiple occasions I have worked as a team with different Officers, Specialized Units and other entities during different incidents.
I am seeking this position to share and enhance my knowledge. I am goal oriented and a team player. I believe that the training and experience have received working Patrol Services Section has given me the training to take on duties for the UAS drone cadre. I am also bilingual, I speak fluent English and Spanish.
As technology is rapidly advancing a UAS cadre will be a useful unit to Airport Police.
