
Experienced bilingual dyslexia therapist with certification as Academic Language Therapist who holds a dyslexia license with the state of Texas to serve struggling readers utilizing a multi-sensory approach.
Assess and place students in district's dyslexia program using a variety of data including formal and informal measures. Provide Tier III instruction to students at two campuses utilizing research-based Take Flight curriculum and Esperanza programs. Monitor student performance using Take Flight progress monitoring tool, as well as Amplify mCLASS. Attend 504/ARD meetings making recommendations for dyslexia and RTI interventions.
Assisted in the organization and implementation of materials/curriculum for a reading/art class for a population of 1500 elementary students. Utilized a budget to establish resources necessary for this newly created program. Instruction targeted weak objectives from the FCAT state assessment and incorporated a supplemental creative activity. Also, tutored fourth grade students using Rewards program.
