For the first four months of our studies at Brown Aveda Institute, we only studied theory and read books. Before taking any customers, we also practiced on each other. We began taking clients every Wednesday and Thursday after our fifth month of study. Waxing and several types of facials were among the services I could provide. I was also able to conduct a skin study to ensure that the facial I selected was appropriate for the customer. We performed makeup and I delivered 30-, 50-, and 60-minute massages, as well as microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, and hydrafacials. A glycolic chemical peel was another something I could do.

As an Esthetician Assistant at Diamond Spa, I was responsible for keeping the store clean at all times. I assisted the esthetician in setting up the room prior to any procedures, as well as cleaning the room afterward, disinfecting it and sterilizing any tools used during the procedure.
