Students worked in pairs or individually to improve in knowledge of phonemes, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension through interactive computer-based games. A detailed summary of what I did to assist the student is listed below.

• Coached 33 2nd and 3rd graders through computer based literacy program designed for students behind their standard grade literacy level.
• Successfully assisted 1 student with learning disability to advance 3 levels in computer generated learning program after student was stuck on 1 level for over 1 month.
• Participated in weekly professional development meetings to improve tutor support skills.
• Reported student progress to their teachers and parents verbally and/or through printed student/parent/teacher report.
• Administered feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage and build confidence.

Freedom School was designed to serve literacy guidance and summer assistance to scholars in low income families. 85% of scholars showed an increase in reading confidence by the end of the program. A short summary of what I did to assist the scholars and program is listed below.

• Created weekly lesson plans based on literacy programs' books.
• Provided scholars with fun learning environment and rewarded scholars throughout program with encouraging words, snacks, games, and movies.
• Conducted chants and speaker introductions in daily active and meditation time known as "Harambee."
• Decorated room by hand drawing and coloring Marvel and DC characters to provided students with fun learning environment.
• Guided 5 kindergarten and 7 2nd grade scholars through planned book lesson series.
• Created performance skit for scholars to present to parents at end of program.
