As an education intern in Chiang Mai, Thailand, traditional Thai temple schools, I served students as a teachers’ assistant, actively participating in teaching, mentoring, homework assistance, lesson prep, and after-school activities.
UCI Student Outreach and Retention Center (SOAR)
January 2022 - June 2022
As a SOAR Intern, I participated in student outreach initiatives, including transfer student panels and student wellness events. My role as an intern allowed me to conduct 1:1 interviews with non-traditional students to analyze how the variables related to mentorship, the university environment, and the pandemic influenced their adjustment to the UCI campus. Ultimately developing a need-based assessment of the non-traditional student population on the UCI campus and cultivating recommendations for future programs and interventions to support the retention of this group.
